Huawei is expanding its presence in financial technology through a new partnership program aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence adoption and digital transformation in banking, as traditional institutions face pressure to modernize their systems more rapidly.
The Chinese technology company's RONGHAI Financial Partner Program has grown to include more than 150 partners worldwide, focusing on bridging core infrastructure with specialized financial applications, according to Roger Wang, Director of Partner Development at Huawei's Digital Finance Business Unit.
Wang says the program emerged from Huawei's realization that even with its scale and decade of experience, the company needed an ecosystem approach to deliver comprehensive digital transformation. "We came to realise that we need to build an ecosystem with a lot of excellent technology partners, so we can build end-to-end capabilities throughout the digital transformation journey," he explains.
The initiative has already shown results in accelerating banking modernization projects. In the Philippines, Huawei completed a full banking transformation in under 10 months - a process that traditionally takes years.
According to McKinsey research cited by Huawei, while AI tools are now widespread in financial services, most organizations have not deeply integrated them into their workflows, limiting their enterprise-level impact.
Wizard He, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Netis Technologies, one of RONGHAI's partners, describes the program as an operating model that enables banks to increase speed without compromising stability. Netis provides AI-powered visibility solutions for banks and has worked with Huawei across multiple markets, including an early project with a leading Singapore bank.
Industry Context
The program launches as banks face increasing pressure to accelerate their digital transformation timelines. Traditional multi-year modernization projects are becoming less viable as customer behavior, competition, and business models evolve more rapidly in the financial services sector.
